Our Client, Island Furniture, is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead their organization.
Island Furniture is a Not- For- Profit furniture store, founded in 1979, the objective of the organization is to provide funding for various Support Employment Agencies, business and charitable organizations across Newfoundland and Labrador for job placements of developmentally delayed persons.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for charitable initiatives, can demonstrate a history of empathy and enthusiasm for assisting persons with disabilities. They have both the knowledge, experience, and passion to champion the Island Furniture mandate of creating real jobs for persons with disabilities, so they too can participate and be productive members of society. They will have a relevant educational background, bring strong and demonstrable business and sales leadership and experience to the position, and be able to provide a satisfactory criminal and vulnerable sectors background check.
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Island Furniture Board of Directors and is responsible for the company’s overall operating activities, including revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management. Directs, administers, and coordinates the internal operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Board of Directors to ensure the continuous operation of a self-reliant business model. Pairing strong leadership with visionary thinking, the CEO must act as a steward and continue to foster growth and communication of IFA’s charitable mandate.
