Our client is an established health and safety company. They are currently seeking candidates for the position of Industrial Hygienist. This position is responsible for providing industrial hygiene services to their clients across a variety of industries.  This position contributes to the programs and processes that prevent workplace illnesses and provide protection for their clients and their employees from workplace industrial hygiene risks and hazards.

• Develop and implement IH standards/programs
• Oversee the completion of workplace assessments
• Recommend corrective actions as needed
• Play an active role in the identification of hazards and implementation of regulatory, health and safety and other program changes
• Advise clients on regulatory standards and health hazard risks
• Prepare IH reports including analysis of hazards and recommendations for corrective actions
• Participate in investigations
• Interpret regulations, codes and legislative standards
• Support the development of IH resources

• Bachelor of Science degree or a degree/diploma in Industrial or Occupational Hygiene
• Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), Certified industrial Hygienist (CIH) or other recognized designation would be  considered an asset but not essential.  The successful candidate would be expected to work towards professional designation if not already attained.
• Minimum of 3 years  experience as an occupational health and safety professional;
• Knowledgeable and professional with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, and execute and deliver the highest quality service;
• Experience reporting and communicating technical information to workers, management and stakeholders
• Experience in large scale industrial based projects;
• Have a strong knowledge of hygiene and hazardous materials related issues;
• Have a reliable vehicle, with appropriate registration and insurance;
• Willingness to travel throughout region of employment;
• A desire to broaden the range of their professional skills;
• Be able to adapt quickly, while managing a busy workload;
• Have proven business and technical problem-solving skills;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
